Since the launching of the IHF Awards in 2015, a new record has been scored this year with 250 entries submitted by 34 countries and territories for the IHF Awards 2021.
The International Hospital Federation has organized a diverse arrangement of more than 30 highly experienced global healthcare leaders who now serve as this year’s panel of judges to be chaired by one of the most seasoned and trusted personalities in the international healthcare community Dr. Lawrence Lai, Honorary Member of the IHF and chairman of the IHF Awards Committee since 2018.
The 250 entries, all accounting the worthy programs and projects of participating hospitals have been served to the IHF Judging Panel, ready for the meticulous process of scrutiny and judging against the following criteria:
- Originality or innovativeness of the services, programs and/or projects;
- Intended impact of the project with a special focus on quality, efficiency and health outcomes;
- Adaptability and scalability of the project in the region, the country and to the rest of the world;
- Scientific rigor of the project’s design and outcome measures; and
- Clarity of the presentation.
In two months, the judging process will have been completed and the IHF Awards Committee will be ready to reveal the finalists of the IHF Awards 2021. Finalists will be invited to a dedicated Awards Ceremony on 10th November. Upon announcement, each will also receive a finalist’s e-badge to recognize their achievements.
In praise of their outstanding and impressively relevant work, gold winners of the IHF Awards will be rewarded the huge opportunity of international scale to present their winning programs and projects to the entire audience of the 44th World Hospital Congress, a global forum of healthcare and hospital leaders to take place in Barcelona on 8 to 11 November.
To be able to present their work to an international audience will earn for the winners the important leverage to gain support in terms of funding, implementation, technology aid and additional network for more expert advice wherever necessary. Equally honorable will be the chance to share the fruits of their important work and the chance to bring about new possibilities on how they may expand its scope to bring positive change and sustainable progress, be it over their neighboring communities or countries, or across the globe.
Tokens of recognition will also be awarded to all the winners of the IHF Awards, in the form of prestigious plaques and certificates, which they will receive during the Awards Ceremony in Barcelona.
